My Lists Customization (Inpatient Nursing, All Campuses)

My Lists can be customized by adding, rearranging or removing columns, making it easier to find the information you use most often.  For example, adding the column “Bedside Nurse” shows the nurse on the treatment team responsible for patient care during the shift.  For more information see the tip sheet here:  Customize Columns to Patient My Lists

PPD Skin Test Documentation for Nursing (Inpatient Nursing, All Campuses)

When a provider orders the “Tuberculin PPD” skin test order panel, it generates a medication order for the tuberculin purified protein derivative (PPD) solution and a nursing order to place the PPD skin test. Both orders are visible on the Brain timeline. PPD Skin Test administration documentation occurs on the MAR as a routine medication and as a nursing task on the Brain to be completed after placing the test.

Tip sheets on the process for nursing and providers can be found here.  PPD Skin Test and Resulting Documentation     Tuberculin PPD Order Panel Workflow

4 Eyes Skin Assessment Documentation Change (Inpatient Nursing, Jackson Campus)

An initial 4 Eyes Skin Assessment completed on admission provides a baseline of the patient’s existing skin condition.  Beginning Monday, June 5, 2023, a 4 Eyes Skin Reassessment is to be performed subsequently every 10 days during the admission encounter.  Upon completion of the initial 4 Eyes Skin Assessment, a new nursing task populates on the Brain for the 4 Eyes Reassessment every 10 days after the initial assessment.

Signing In and Out of Treatment Teams (Inpatient Nursing, All Campuses)

Inpatient staff nurses use the sign in activity at the beginning of the shift.  The Sign In activity places the nurse on the patient treatment team of the selected patients within the activity. After completing the Sign In activity, patients appear on the Brain and the My List in Patient Lists. Your name and contact information appear in each patient's Profile report.  The information entered here makes it easier for others to contact you in Secure Chat.  Using the Sign Out activity at the end of a shift removes the user from the treatment team and clears the nursing Brain.
